Olivia Retires After 38 Years

After 38 years of unbroken service, Olivia Hill, who works as a general accounts clerk at DonnellyBentley Chartered Accountants, has retired. Olivia was bid an emotional farewell and showered with gifts and good wishes at a special presentation organised by staff and Directors.

Director Jonathan Hargraves, said:
“Olivia has been a highly valued member of the team. To stay with one firm for such a long time is very unusual in this day and age. It shows great commitment and loyalty, and if I could keep her here for another 10 years I would. We all wish her the very best for the future.”

Having joined the firm back in the 1970s, Olivia recalls that it was at the time that VAT was being introduced:
“The firm was much smaller then and I came to work for Jonathan’s father Chris Hargraves who was one of the partners. VAT was something completely new and I was asked if I would like to start in this new area of work. I never looked back really. It’s been wonderful, the people here have always been really kind and they still are today.”

Olivia lives with her 91 year old Mum and her son in Horwich. In her retirement she is looking forward to having more time to do the things that take her fancy such as a trip to London with her friends.
