PRESS RELEASE
Bolton Chartered Accountants, DonnellyBentley have announced the launch of a new probate service following legislation earlier this year allowing licensed Chartered Accountants to provide legal services which were previously restricted to lawyers.
DonnellyBentley are amongst the first wave of practices to register to carry out probate work and consider this is to be good news for individuals because they will now have an alternative to the other traditional routes… i.e. their accountant.
Managing Director John Shaw of DonnellyBentley says:
“Probate work is something that accountants have long argued they are well placed to carry out. We already provide inheritance tax planning advice to our clients and, as we normally see clients annually with their accounts, are bang up to date with their personal and financial circumstances. As tax experts we are also au fait with the latest tax legislation. This combined knowledge should lead to cost savings for executors.”
John continues:
“In the wake of the loss of a family member, it can be difficult to face dealing with all the paperwork involved in the distribution of the person’s estate. Most people just want the peace of mind that their loved ones wishes, as set out in their Will, have been carried out. To achieve this, professional advice and support is important even if you think it is going to be a straightforward matter.”
In addition, DonnellyBentley is also offering a Will writing service for both individuals and couples. The practice believes that their knowledge of Inheritance tax will help clients to make informed choices.
